Maloney To Phoenix? Not So Fast

NY Post - The potential loss of assistant GM Don Maloney to Phoenix as the new GM of the Coyotes would certainly be a blow to the Rangers' front office. But Maloney is still not the club's de facto GM as some may believe. Glen Sather is fully in charge.

"I like it in the background," Sather said. "I enjoy being able to build things this way."

Maloney is a long way from gone. Even if he gets a big-dollar offer, the Garden may match. Also, perhaps Maloney would think twice about going to Phoenix to join what some believe is the NHL's most dysfunctional organization. [READ]
