Back then, though a Rangers fan who loved going to the Garden, he dreamed of pitching for the Yankees - he wears No. 23 in tribute to Don Mattingly.
The Rangers are expected to pursue Drury when he hits the open market July 1. As per club policy, he and the Sabres have not engaged in contract extension talks in months.
