Press Release - Columbus Blue Jackets forward Alexandre Picard underwent successful surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn medial collateral ligament on Tuesday, April 17, the club announced today.

"Our understanding is that the surgery went very well and that the rehabilitation time for this type of injury is typically several months," said Blue Jackets Interim General Manager Jim Clark. "Alex is in tremendous shape and the prognosis is that he will make a complete recovery."

Picard, 21, suffered the injury on April 13 in an American Hockey League game between the Syracuse Crunch and Rochester Americans. He appeared in 23 games with the Blue Jackets this season and collected his first career NHL point with an assist March 20 vs. Chicago.
