Yahoo.com - The Blue Jackets have fired president and GM Doug MacLean, a source told the Canadian Press on Wednesday.

The 53-year-old was relieved of his duties after the Blue Jackets stumbled to a 33-42-7 record this season, good for 11th in the Western Conference. MacLean, the only president and GM in franchise history, enjoyed little success during his tenure. The Blue Jackets were 172-258-62 all-time under MacLean, and are the only NHL franchise to have never reached the post-season. [READ]
