Rangers President and GM Glen Sather announced today that the team has agreed to terms with free agent defenseman Mike Kostka.

Kostka, 28, split this past season between the Blackhawks and the Lightning, registering four goals and seven assists for 11 points.

During the 2014 Playoffs, he recorded two assists and posted a plus-two rating in three contests with Tampa Bay. Kostka led the team in plus/minus rating, tied for the team lead in assists, and tied for fourth on the team in points (two) and blocked shots (four). 

In 63 career NHL games with Toronto, Chicago, and Tampa Bay, Kostka has registered four goals and 15 assists for 19 points, along with 35 penalty minutes. 

He was originally signed by the Sabres as an un-drafted free agent on March 25, 2008.
