The NHL announced this evening that Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog has been named the recipient of the 2012 Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL's rookie of the year.
Landeskog received 1,383 votes, edging the Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins by 382 votes. The Devils' Adam Henrique finished third with 620 votes. The Calder Trophy, which dates back to 1933, is awarded "to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition in the National Hockey League."
