Columbus Re-Sign Modin To Multi-Year Deal

Press Release - The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed left wing Fredrik Modin to a multi-year contract, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced today. As is club policy, terms were not disclosed.

Modin currently ranks third on the club in goals and is fourth in points with 15 goals and 15 assists for 30 points with 42 penalty minutes in 60 games this season. He has added four power play goals and two game-winning goals. He was acquired by the Blue Jackets, along with Fredrik Norrena, from Tampa Bay on June 30, 2006, in a trade that sent Marc Denis to the Lightning.

"We are very excited to get a deal done with Freddy," said MacLean. "He has been a very solid player for us, a leader and has good character. He is a tremendous fit for our team. He's a quality person and a winner." [READ]
