Kings Recall Tukonen, Places Ivanans On IR

Press Release - The Los Angeles Kings have recalled right wing Lauri Tukonen from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League and have placed left wing Raitis Ivanans on the injured reserve list (retroactive to February 19) due to an arm injury, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Tukonen, 20, has 23 points (10-13=23) and 20 penalty minutes in 43 games with the Monarchs this season. The Kings originally selected Tukonen, a 6-2, 200-pound native of Hyvinkaa, Finland, in the first-round (11th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Tukonen, who has not played in the NHL, will wear jersey No. 44 with the Kings.

Ivanans, 28, has five points (2-3=5) and a team-leading 93 penalty minutes in 47 games with the Kings this season. A 6-3, 263-pound native of Riga, Latvia, Ivanans signed with the Kings as an unrestricted free agent on July 13, 2006. [READ]
