Grading The Deal: Sens Sign G Anderson To Four-Year Extension
When the Ottawa Senators acquired goalie Craig Anderson in mid-February, it was widely seen as an extended tryout. Evidently, the tryout went well, as Anderson and the Sens agreed to a 4-year, $12.75M contract extension.

With just a few days of training camp in the books Ottawa Senators' Coach Craig Hartsburg is already creating waves. Coach Hartsburg opened up camp this past week with mid-level prospect Jesses Winchester playing on the first line with Dany Heatley and Jason Spezza.

Every year Ottawa enters the playoffs as a contender yet every year they get knocked without even getting to the finals. No other team has fielded such a talented lineup year after year, yet somehow they are always eliminated. Their regular season dominance has placed them among the upper-echelon of teams yet the playoffs somehow drop them back to the pack. After their latest loss to the Buffalo Sabres, a talented and excellent skating team, the Senators clearly need to take a new approach to reaching the finals.
