In the sixth of a series of 30 articles, we will go through the history of every NHL franchise alphabetically and select an All-Time Roster for each.

Carolina Hurricanes (1997-Present)/Hartford Whalers (1979-1997)

Life as a Hartford Whalers fan must have been very trying; the team amassed an NHL record of 534-709-177, getting outscored by 641 goals in 18 seasons. In those 18 seasons they made the playoffs only eight times, and advanced past the first round only once. In the 13 seasons played in Carolina, only five have involved the postseason. However, when the Hurricanes do make the playoffs, they make it deep; the 2006 Stanley Cup Champions also made it to the Finals in 2002, and made it to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2009.
