Patrick Roy watched from the stands as Martin Brodeur won his 551st career game on Saturday night. Brodeur and Roy are now tied for the most career wins in the history of the NHL. Brodeur will have a chance to break the record on Tuesday night against the Blackhawks.

William Davidson, the former owner of the Tampa Bay Lightning died on Saturday night. Davidson owned the Lightning for nine years, winning the Stanley Cup in 2004, the same year that the Detroit Pistons, whom he also owned, won the NBA Championship.

No Power to their play: The Columbus Blue Jackets currently are in fifth place in the Western Conference despite their dreadful power-play, which ranks dead last in the NHL at 12.0%.

The Red Wings have topped the 100-point plateau for the ninth straight season. The Wings currently sit at 101 points with twelve games still remaining on their schedule.

Long time referee Rob Shick retired after 23 years the league. Shick wore the stripes for over 1,450 NHL games, including the 2001 Stanley Cup Finals.

Rough Ducks: The Anaheim Ducks lead the league with 70 major penalties, while the Detroit Red Wings have accumulated the least in the league with 11.

The Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament crowned its winners this past weekend: Breck High School defeated Warroad 7-3 in the small school, Class A, title game on Saturday. Later on that evening, Eden Prairie High School captured the Class AA title by defeating Morehead 4-0. The title was the first in the school?s history. The team was led by Senior Defenseman Nick Leddy, who was awarded the Mr. Hockey award on Sunday. The award is given annually to the top prep player in the state.

Analysis: Leddy is a sound two-way defenseman that uses his physical ability to gain position on his opponent. Leddy utilizes his exceptional speed to rush the puck up the ice and has the knowledge and hockey sense to decide when to do so. He has proven to be a big-game performer as he was the catalyst for his prep team as they won the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament. He will develop his game next season at the University of Minnesota.
