Despite the last rankings taking place almost two months ago, it was interesting to see the top nine teams from November all still within the top nine; only the former 10th placed Coyotes have dropped out. After November, the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings were first and second respectively, but at the All-Star break it was flip-flopped with Detroit first and Boston second.

At the bottom of the list, former last placed Anaheim Ducks moved their way up to 24th, being replaced by Columbus.

A team that was 25th after November, the Nashville Predators, screamed their way up to 10th, earning the highest jump of 15 spots. The biggest drop was by the vastly underperforming Buffalo Sabres, who dropped sixteen spots from 12th to 28th.

As always, the rankings are derived from the OCTR (click here for more details).

All stats and information include all games played through January 25, 2012.
