The NHL regular season wound down to a close on Sunday, and with that comes the final Power Rankings by OCTR (Obe's Comprehensive Team Ranking) value.

To no one’s surprise the Vancouver Canucks held onto their top spot as they ran away with the Presidents' Trophy with 117 points, 10 more than the next closest team (Washington). Equally unsurprising was the Edmonton Oilers ranking dead last, occupying that spot more often than any other team this season as they finished with the fewest points (62), giving them close to a 50% opportunity to draft 1st overall for the second straight year.

Just like the rankings showed at the end of March, Calgary was the lone top-16 team by OCTR not to make the playoffs, while Anaheim was the only team outside of the top-16 to make it, earning home-ice in the first round as the West’s fourth seed. What hurt them was being outscored by 17 while 5-on-5, and giving up close to four more shots per game than they take. Will this hurt them in the playoffs? It may.
