NBC was quite clear in regards to their priorities a week ago last Saturday when they decided to air a horse racing pre-game show rather than continue with the overtime period of the Senators/Sabres playoff match. While many fans were upset, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman was surprisingly understanding.

?While it was disappointing that fans were not allowed to watch the exciting ending to the Senators/Sabres Game 5, I can see why NBC switched over to pre-game Horse coverage.? Commented NHL commish Gary Bettman during an interview in a recent edition of The Charlie Rose Show. ?Who won that game by the way? I missed the ending.?

Mr. Rose continued to dig deeper, asking why Bettman thought it was okay to rob fans the right to watch the overtime period.

?Well, you see Charlie, it is just that, well, hockey is not all that exciting in the first place. I was just happy that they aired the first three periods to be quite honest with you. Besides, there are literally thousands of hockey games played each year, but how many horse racing pre-game events are we privy to in any given year??

Self-proclaimed NHL superfan Brent ?Halliburton? Haugeberg was understandably upset about being robbed the right to watch the end of the pivotal Game 5.

?If the NBC network expects me to watch any sitcom?s, drama?s, reality shows, dramadies, or any other programs this Fall, they?ve got a prayer. I am officially boycotting the network for life, with the exception of ?My Name Is Earl?, ?America?s Got Talent? and ?Apprentice: Martha Stewart? provided they bring that show back.?
