Blues forward Paul Stastny skated for the first time in a month on Tuesday after missing the past 13 games with a lower-body injury.

Coach Mike Yeo said Stastny is day-to-day. St. Louis is up 3-0 in its first-round series against the Minnesota Wild, with Game 4 at home Wednesday night.

Capitals Acquire Kevin Shattenkirk From Blues

Blues Place Paul Stastny On IR With Lower-Body Injury

The St. Louis Blues have placed forward Paul Stastny on injured reserve with a lower-body injury.

The Blues on Tuesday said Stastny was injured during a overtime win last Thursday in Toronto.

Stastny, 31, is in his third season with the Blues. He is tied for fourth on the team with 35 points (15 goals, 20 assists) in 54 games.

Martin Havlat Retires After 14 NHL Seasons

Martin Havlat has announced his retirement after putting up 594 points in 790 NHL games over 14 seasons.

Nicknamed "Mach 9" for his skating prowess, Havlat played for the Senators, Blackhawks, Wild, Sharks, Devils and Blues. The 35-year-old announced his retirement on Wednesday through the NHL Players' Association.

Blues Fire Coach Ken Hitchcock

The Blues' coaching change was supposed to happen after the season was over, but a disappointing year has cost veteran bench boss Ken Hitchcock his job ahead of time.

The Blues announced Wednesday morning that Hitchcock had been relieved of his duties and that associate coach Mike Yeo was taking over. Yeo, the former Wild head coach, was hired last summer with the stipulation that he would take over when Hitchcock retired after this season.

Vladimir Sobotka Trying To Return To NHL

Team Czech Republic forward Vladimir Sobotka and his agent remain in talks with the KHL and the St. Louis Blues in hopes of returning to the NHL this season.

After playing the past two seasons for Avangard Omsk, Sobotka has been in talks for the past five months with no resolution. 

Sobotka, 28, has one year remaining on this KHL contract and said this process has been a difficult one.

The Blues have hired former Wild coach Mike Yeo as associate head coach and will hand him the head coaching job when Ken Hitchcock retires after next season.

"For being 42 years old, he's got a lot of experience," Blues general manager Doug Armstrong said in a statement. "He's won a Stanley Cup in Pittsburgh, he's taken an American League team to the finals, and you saw the good job he did in Minnesota in taking that team to the second round. What excites me is his experience, but with his age, he can really relate to today's players and it's an exciting day for our team."
