A day after Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault criticized Bruins head coach Claude Julien and forward Brad Marchand, the Bruins responded Sunday to those comments.
Vigneault was upset that Julien had said Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist was "acting" when Marchand was called for a goaltender-interference call during Boston's 4-3 win over New York on Friday.
"I think it's pretty obvious what I said. I felt Lundqvist sold it," Julien said Sunday. "Not for a second did I ever question Henrik Lundqvist as a goaltender or as a person. We all know how good he is as a goaltender, and I know he's a good person. It certainly wasn't any more than the situation, so that's all I've got to say on Lundqvist."
Blackhawks star forward Patrick Kane scored a point in his 19th consecutive game Saturday night to set a new NHL record for the longest points streak by a U.S.-born player, according to an ESPN.com report.

Rangers coach Alain Vigneault has criticized Bruins coach Claude Julien for making disparaging comments about New York goaltender Henrik Lundqvist following Boston's win over the Rangers.

Boston forward Brad Marchand was penalized in the third period of Friday's game. After the game, Julien said Lundqvist embellished the contact between the players to draw a penalty.
"It's a little disappointing," Vigneault said when he learned what was said after Friday's game.
The Stars have placed goalie Kari Lehtonen on the injured list, clearing the way for prospect Jack Campbell to back up Anti Niemi.
Campbell was called up from the Texas Stars of the AHL on Thursday along with defenseman Patrik Nemeth. Lehtonen replaced Niemi in the second period of Tuesday's loss to Ottawa but left after just eight minutes with an upper-body injury.
General manager Marc Bergevin has signed an extension through the 2021-22 season, the Canadiens announced Wednesday.

The magazine said Tuesday that Montreal is second at $1.18 billion, followed by Toronto at $1.15 billion. The Maple Leafs had been the most valuable team since 2005, but they've reached the playoffs only once since 2006 and their 13-year home sellout streak ended in March.
