Coyotes Send Hollweg To AHL San Antonio
Coyotes GM Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have assigned left wing Ryan Hollweg to their AHL affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.
Hollweg recorded two assists and 38 penalty minutes in 25 games with the Maple Leafs last season.
Tampa Bay Signs Fritz To One-Year Deal
The Lightning have signed free agent left wing Mitch Fritz to a one-year contract today, Executive Vice President and GM Brian Lawton announced. He will be assigned to the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL.
Fritz made his NHL debut last season with the Islanders, playing in 20 games with 42 penalty minutes. He also appeared in 36 games with Bridgeport of the AHL, notching two assists.
A native of Osoyoos, British Columbia, Fritz has played in 270 career AHL games with Bridgeport, Hartford, Springfield, Worcester, Milwaukee, Saint John, Hamilton and Lowell.
Rangers Sign Alexi Semenov
New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent defenseman Alexei Semenov.
Semenov, 28, skated in 47 games with San Jose last season, registering one goal and eight points, along with 57 penalty minutes. He established career-highs in games played, assists (seven) and points.
Sharks Name Rob Blake Captain
Rob Blake has been named captain of the San Jose Sharks for the 2009-10 season.

Watkins Signs With Phoenix
Phoenix Coyotes GM Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have signed forward Matt Watkins to an entry level contract.
As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Watkins participated in training camp with the Coyotes on a professional tryout and has joined the team?s AHL affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pound Watkins was originally drafted by Dallas in the fifth round of the 2005 Entry Draft.
Predators Sign Bouillon To One-Year Deal
Predators President of Hockey Operations/GM David Poile announced today that the club has signed defenseman Francis Bouillon to a one-year, $750,000 contract. Bouillon attended Predators Training Camp on a Professional Tryout Agreement, scoring a goal in one preseason game.
Bouillon posted a career-high five goals, nine points and 53 penalty minutes in 54 games with Montreal in 2008-09.
A native of New York, N.Y., Bouillon is also a veteran of 25 NHL Playoff contests, and has seen action in four of the last five postseasons.
Coyotes Claim Bissonnette Off Waivers From Pens
Coyotes GM Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have claimed forward Paul Bissonnette off waivers from the Penguins.
Bissonnette appeared in 15 games with the Penguins last season, recording one assist and 15 penalty minutes). He also played in 57 games for Wilkes-Barre, Pittsburgh?s AHL affiliate.
Bissonnette was originally selected by Pittsburgh in the fourth round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Hurricanes Give Ward 6-Year Extension
The Hurricanes and goaltender Cam Ward have agreed to a six-year contract extension, the team announced on Wednesday.
The deal is worth $37.8M, a source told ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun.
