In the first of a series of 30 articles, we will go through the history of every NHL franchise alphabetically and select an All-Time Roster for each. Annually the NHL rewards the top players at each position and selects a league-wide First Team All-Star and Second Team All-Star squad, each consisting of one center, one right wing, one left wing, two defensemen and one goalie. The NBA handles it a bit differently, with three All-NBA teams that each have two guards and two forwards regardless of which particular guard or forward spot the player plays. Due to the lengthy history of many franchises of the NHL, the RealGM versions of the All-Time Rosters will feature three All-Star teams from every franchise (even recent expansion teams), and each team will be feature one center, two wingers (not necessarily one right and one left), two defensemen and a goalie; two coaches will also be selected. Players were looked at based on career stats with the club, awards, playoff accomplishments, single-season accomplishments and length of tenure. Players and coaches were not limited on the number of franchises they could qualify for. When a ranking is noted, that will be on the franchise list for their position (F, D, G).
